Overview
LUVMUD is a 5k obstacle race that ends in a mud pit. This race is a 5k obstacle race where you run, jump, climb and crawl through mud to reach the finish line. Throughout the race there are obstacles to complete. The final obstacle to be completed is a 50 FOOT LONG MUD PIT! (hence LUVMUD)
Beyond the race we will have a all day festival with venders, some of Memphis finest local bands, kids area with face painting, tie-dying, and African Drumming etc…
The Purpose:
The purpose of LUVMUD & LuvGlo is to be a fundraising event for Habitat for Hope (HFH) –(www.habitatforhope.org). HFH is a non-profit organization that supports, serves and cares for families that have a child that is critically or chronically ill. Since HFH started 5 years ago, we have served over 250 families from 27 states and 5 countries. We are currently kicking off a capital campaign (The Barn Raising Project) to build and eco-friendly and sustainable retreat on our 50 acre property in Shelby Forrest. You can read about it in a recent article in Commercial Appeal http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2010/apr/18/at-barn-families-will-find-a-haven
